Reference Guide

Archival Publications uses footnotes, which are considered sentences that begin with a capital letter and end with a period.
For the first reference, the entire bibliographic entry is given (without indicating the publisher and with the series title in parentheses). For repeated references, in the case of a single work, the author's name and the colon followed by "I. m." and the page number, in the case of multiple cited works, the characteristic part of the title of the given work, followed by a period followed by "I. m." and the page number.
In the case of references to volumes or periodicals, the title of these is italicized.
In the case of works published in a study volume, the author's name and the title of the work are followed by the notation "In:", followed by the name of the author/editor in italics.
For journals, the year and issue are given.
Citations are generally italicized, and omissions and own comments are indicated with square brackets.
Abbreviations should be avoided both in the main text and in references.
In the case of works in foreign languages, we refer to them in the same way as in Hungarian, the title of the work does not have to be given in Hungarian, and the order of the authors' surnames and first names is not reversed.
Unusual spelling or incorrect text in the original is indicated by the notation "(sic!)".
Centuries are given in Arabic numerals.
In the case of online references, the exact address of the website and the date of the last download are also given.
In the case of archival references (archives, sections/fund main groups, item numbers, etc.), the abbreviation used in the following is given at the first reference.
